Technology

Reverse Osmosis (RO)

Semi-permeable membrane filtration that removes dissolved salts, heavy metals and high TDS.

At a glance

What it removes

Dissolved salts, heavy metals, bacteria and high TDS — up to 99.9% salt removal.

Best for

Source water from 250 to 1250 ppm TDS.

Key advantage

6-stage purification with thin-film composite membrane technology, removing up to 99.9% of dissolved salts.

How It Works

The Reverse Osmosis Process

  1. Pre-Filtration

    Sediment and suspended particles removed.

  2. Carbon Filtration

Chlorine, odour and organic impurities reduced.

  3. Reverse Osmosis

Applied pressure forces water through a thin-film composite semi-permeable membrane, retaining dissolved salts and heavy metals.

  4. Post Filtration

Final polish for taste and clarity.

  5. Safe Water Out

    Purified, great-tasting water.

In Detail

Overview

How Reverse Osmosis Works

Reverse osmosis is a water purification technology that uses a semi-permeable membrane to remove ions, molecules and larger particles from drinking water. An applied pressure is used to overcome osmotic pressure, forcing water through the membrane while dissolved salts and impurities are retained on the pressurised side.

What It Removes

Reverse osmosis removes a wide range of dissolved and suspended species from water, including bacteria, and is used in both industrial processes and the production of potable water. It is most commonly known for its ability to remove salts and dissolved solids, making it the right choice for source water with high TDS.
